Idealistic Eva works in the minimum-security ward of a correctional facility, overseeing the incarcerated men with an almost maternalistic sense of compassion, guiding them in mediations and showing interest in – and empathy for – for their wellbeing. But all this changes when Mikkel, a swaggering offender, is transferred to the facility, and without revealing her motives to her superiors, Eva requests to be reassigned to his high-security block. So begins an unsettling and dangerous game of cat and mouse in which Evas increasingly unhealthy preoccupation when Mikkel challenges her belief in restorative justice, and places much more than her job at stake
